Miguel Angel Godoy...Portraits & Movement from Friends vs Foes

Check out this interview from the talented artist, MAG. In the hip hop scene, he is well-known as 'Get Busy Godoyski' from the Rock So Fresh Crew. Just like his artwork he is colorful, explosive, funky, rocks-hard, and super clean. Definitely an inspiration for me when he gets down on canvas and the dance floor.

Mare 139 Interview and Bboy Series

Just read the dopest interview on graffuturism.com featuring Mare 139. I can totally relate to his vision, art, and style. Mare 139 goes into depth about his influence and history with the bboy and grafitti culture.

Many of the dancers were also graffiti artists notably Doze Green and Ken Swift who would often correlate the dance forms complex metaphors to wild style graffiti, they would exchange ideas about interlocking moves, aggression in space, relationships of movement to music, all this I found was relative to style writing on trains.

Mira Mesa Public Art

These are completed shots of several electrical boxes that I've painted to help beautify the city streets. This is community service through art to create a better place to live. We work together with the Town Council, Mira Mesa High School, and Heroes. Thanks Leo for putting this project together and gathering all the talented local artists to lay down some colorful paint on those plain ugly street boxes. Back from NY photos

Took a week off of work to visit my brother out in NY, since his move from San Diego about half a year ago. Wanted to catch up and see how he's livin' life nowadays. Spent a nice day of walking around Brooklyn to absorb the street art, tags, and murals. Definitely a dope city filled with creative graffiti and bombs, so much life and color at every angle and corner. Came back home with lots of inspiration.

Snowboard - Ready to Go

Packing up for a nice long-weekend trip with a couple days of boarding at Heavenly, Lake Tahoe. Weather forecast for the weekend says a storm is underway, which looks like SNOWWWW dumping all-day everyday.
Anyways, here's how I attacked my Blank Snowboard: first I scuffed up the deck with some gritty sandpaper, painted a few coats with florescent orange Krylon spray paint, let dry then went crazy with a fresh black permanent marker. Kept it raw! (no clear coat to protect it from the elements)

Build What You Dream

"Build What You Dream" v.2
Based off an painting I did back in 2006, revisited this old title and redid the creep character. The original four-layer paper stencil I used for the sand castle was still intact and in good shape.

The theme for this painting is definitely one of my favorites: To persevere through life and reach our future endeavors we must build, create, and work for our dreams. The sand castle represents the royalty, honor, respect, wealth, and life's path - thus careful molding and shaping is necessary for a strong foundation and beautiful structure.

Established in 2002, these Crevice Creeps evolved into some crazy kids. Seeping through the underground they arise and form visible patterns that crawl amusingly into the subconscious producing a movement of 'haunting visual germination'. The CREEP is a fixture in our lives - and you can't fail to recognize them, because a bit of the creep resides in all of us. These creatures now have crazy freestyle abilities and mad character... from flatland skateboarding, bboy tricks, spray painting, and rockin' the crown on their heads. Crevice Creeps believe in only true forms of balance through learning, wisdom, consistency, and appreciation.
